Freyja's Song

My heart it was a heavy stone,
A weight too much to bear.
She came to me, Vanadis,
The lady most fair.

I froze enamored by her beauty,
And her lion's stare.
With glowing fire, melted amber
Garnet in her hair.

She drew me close and held me tight,
And burned away my fear.
She forged me as a smith of gold
Into her hands so dear.

I melted in her warmest summer
Sun-fire skin.
Now all I do is craft my heart
To give it back again.

Hold the Night

The first light of dawn
Seeps into my mind,
And I dream that the stars are all gone.
The purr of the fire's
Rhythm in the night,
And I dream that the sunrise is gone.

But the ravens outside
See the clouds in the sky,
And they croon from the tops of the trees.
They dance through the sky
Like lovers of the day,
And they hold the night on their wings.

The arms of the sun
Reach through the veil,
And I dream that they are reaching for me.
The arms of the earth
Sway in the breeze,
And I dream that they're sheltering me.

But the ravens outside
See the clouds in the sky,
And they croon from the tops of the trees.
They dance through the sky
Like lovers of the day,
And they hold the night on their wings.

The sky's frozen tears
Float to the earth,
And I dream that my eyes are the storm.
And I wave to the day,
For the night surely comes,
And I dream that the sunset is warm.

But the ravens outside
See the clouds in the sky,
And they croon from the tops of the trees.
They dance through the sky
Like lovers of the day,
And they hold the night on their wings.
